I voted both because I enjoy some canon ships, like Ron/Hermione (their chemistry is undeniable), Lucius/Narcissa, James/Lily (though I ship Severus/Lily as well), Arthur/Molly and Voldemort/Bellatrix (they're canon, okay?). But the only ship I really do sail is Harry/Draco, I think it would make a lot of sense, actually. They're my OTP.

Interesting thread, caught my attention straight away. I do like cannon ships such as Lucius/Narcissa as I do tend to like the Slytherin character traits more than the other, but I also feel like they is a true love between these two and of course Molly/Arthur because it is so adorable and they just love one another so very much that nothing can break them up and they are always there for one another.
But my main ship like is not cannon at all and that is Harry/Draco. What? I like the idea of opposites attract =p also, I like the idea of Harry being with the Slytherin Prince, the bad boy. I guess we all have our little kicks, right? - I happen to BE a bird! |

I voted for Both even though I am a primarilly canon person. There is only one fanon ship that I ever liked but that was because it could totally be canon :P. That ship is Remus/Lily. I see them together at Hogwarts pre-James. But yeah that's the only ship not mentioned in the books that I really love. I used to be a Harry/Luna shipper but that was before H/G and the HBP movie made me like that more.

I voted for both. As I love canon ships such as James/Lily, Ginny/Harry and Remus/Tonks. But I also love other ships, including my main one: Draco/Hermione, and then I love Sirius/Lily, Remus/Lily, anyone in the marauders to be honest lol. Although I think personally Sirius belongs with me but whatever haha.
hmmm I was wondering would we consider Snape/Lily canon...we wouldnt would we..lol. Cause I love them!! |

Ohh I do apologise for my short post. I read the 3 line thing but I didn't overly click on it at this time of the night!
I can read canon as a side pairing but not as a main so I have to choose fanon all the way :-) My OTP is Harry/Draco although through a community on another site I am expanding my writing and even writing het, I know, this is weird for me, but heh! I'm up for anything once, under the right circumstances. |

I voted for both.
Harry/Ginny: My favourite ship. I actually read this AMAZING piece of fanfiction way before the HBP book was released, and that first put me on the track of H/G. Then, obviously, along comes HBP and I'm like yay-yay-yay-yay!!!! I think it was also obviously always going to happen. The fact that Harry looks so much like James, and Ginny has red hair like Lily...it was just obvious to me! James/Lily: So adorable. I love reading fanfics about the earlier generation at Hogwarts and I have always loved Lily/James. The fact that they really didn't get on to start with, but James finally got the girl...and then they ended up REALLY loving each other. So sweet! Ron/Hermione: It just makes sense. Always has, always will. However, having said that, I can still see Hermione with some other people, due to my other love for Fanon, aswell as Canon. ![]() Draco/Hermione: Hot hot hot! Why are Dramione fanfics always so steamy? They're just great. It's forbidden love and that makes the whole thing more intense. Last but not least, I ship Cedric/Me which is obviously as Canon as it gets .

I do tend to find myself leaning towards Canon ships rather than fanon ships in most things (though lately I have been getting more into fanon...) but I think everything is down to interpretation really, and having fun with it.
For me, in the Harry Potter fandom, it is a bit of both. I have always loved Romione, always! but I also rather like the idea of Draco/Ginny or even Harry/Draco xD - Slytherin for the cup! _________________________________________________________________________

I had a hard time choosing for some reason. Do I like it by the book or just randomness?
I chose Canon. Why? Well, because its fun, that's why! It's fun to imagine some completely unlikely pairs. I just love it when people come up with completely wierd and amazing relationships. - [Avatar] "Holy shi* dude! Harry's gone ape!" |

I see most people voted for Both; I'd have to agree because I like reading both Canon FF and the Random FF. The best of both worlds in my oppinion. I mean one is for the faithful and avid Harry Potter fans but the other is for those who want a little difference in the Harry Potter universe...And perhaps enter the dark-side a long the way *snigger*.
I think J.K chose well the people that ended up together. In particularly I love Ron/Hermione and Tonks/Lupin as I really believe they are well suited and they had a long time to work...It wasn't just instant, which is a good thing. There are other couples in the series I like but those two are my favourites. Now for the pure random. As I have already said in the threads on here (on certain couples). I love when opposites attract. My favourite random oppostie couples are Hermione/Snape, Hermione/Draco, Harry/Draco and recently Ginny/Draco. I think they make an interesting read as they seem like such forbidden loves. It all depends on what mood I am in but I like both canon and Random just as long as the writer is good *lol* - Let's make some noise GH for our anniversary!! _________________________________________________________________________

I voted for both. Some of the canon couples don't make much sense to me, whereas in some (like Molly/Arthur and Tonks/Remus) they seem just perfect together. I love Ginny/Draco, though I'd ship Harry/Draco too. I'll read fanfics of pretty much any AU ship except Snape/Hermione which I just find WEIRD WEIRD WEIRD.

I voted both
I'm a huge canon shipper as Tonks/Lupin but also a super H/Hr shipper, Dramione and the hottest is surely Draco/Harry, I think it's the hottest one. About canon I'm not fan of Ron/Hr never liked them coupled, and reading the books I always thoight Hermione of Ron could change their mind and end up with someone else. Also Harry/Ginny is not my fav, I actually can't see anything going hot with those two, it's bit obvious and not cool, anyway this is what JK wrote so..
- It's time for some Slytherin Domination! _________________________________________________________________________

I dislike H/G and R/Hr sooooo much. Harry and Ginny never made any sense to me. I get the whole looking like James and Lily, and knew she'd refer back to Ginny's crush in the first 3/4 books at some point, but I hated them together as a couple. There was no chemistry and I didn't buy into the whole 'cute couple' aspect of it. They weren't. His jealousy and apparent liking of Ginny was ridiculous in the speed it suddenly came and seemed rushed and pointless to me!
Don't even get me started on R/Hr. There just is NOTHING in the first 3 books, in my opinion, hinting to R/Hr. Reading them I was totally sold on H/Hr particularly seeing the evident chemistry Dan and Emma have together. They just make sense in ways that Ron and Hermione never have done for me. I see what JKR was trying to achieve with R/Hr but I never bought into it. So I would have to say fanon. - painting the board green and silver during my first year at Hogwarts - go go Slytherin! _________________________________________________________________________

Both!
I voted on this ages ago, but seem to have never commented. I love me some H/G and R/Hr, but... When I vid, it's some much more fun to vid H/Hr. The movies hint at H/Hr more than R/HR (my cannon happiness), doesn't make sense. Also, I love some Marauder love. (Sirius Black is my favorite character, it's a give in!) What I love most is SnAck and S/Re. Snape and Sirius because it's so wrong it can be right. The boy who bullied to guy he had a crush on to mask his true feelings... I love it. Can't get enough. And I love Sirius and Remus. They are just such good friends, it's sometimes so hard to not make more of it. And when I have the chance to read a good fan fic, it just confrims this notion that they were more than friends. I love the two characters and cried for both their deaths, and Harry's visit via Resurrection Stone. The fact the weathered so much hardships together, I just wanted them to find love, even if it's with each other. Don't get me wrong, no one supports Remus/Tonks more than I, but it's fun to make believe isn't it? - I am at year one. _________________________________________________________________________

I'm one of the three oddballs that chose None - Pfffffffft! Romance is for squares, and the Potterverse has wa-ay to much., though I'm not sure if that is really suitable for me.
I mean, I like storybook romances and have a few ships that I sail, but I'm not passionate about them. In my opinion, the personal drama got in the way of a lot of wizarding world related things that I would've rather read, but that's just me. The few ships that I do sail make sense to me. One is canon and the others aren't as much, but they still make sense. I always tend to root for the underdog, rather than the big glitzy hero. - It's been a GREAT first year, Great-Hall! Here's to many others! _________________________________________________________________________
